You’ll unlatch the roof and flip a switch. Electric actuators raise your camper in 30 seconds or less. To finish things off, you roll down the front tent wall and strap it to the truck tailgate. Zip it closed and you’re camping. Set up time will be less than 5 min.
Breakdown camp by making sure all items are off the bed area and hold a button to power your electric actuators and collapse the tent. Break down time will be less than 5 min.
Space Campers integrates with your Cybertruck’s existing battery to power everything and anything. This includes your camper’s dimmable lights, a cell phone charger, your induction cooktops, and much more.
The impact on range will be highly variable based on how you use your vehicle. For most people, this won’t be an issue. If you plan to frequently commute at freeway speeds, we offer simple offload solutions.
At 170 lbs, The Cap increases the total weight of your truck by 2.6%. The only change you’ll notice is a slight reduction in range due to increased drag. Our estimates show a 4-9% decrease in range depending on your driving habits, but real-world tests have shown an even smaller effect.
The Caps starting price is $6,385.00 and can be outfitted with upgrades and accessories that will increase the price accordingly. For accessory pricing, see the accessory slider on The Cap page.
Several factors drive our costs higher than traditional truck shells, but the greatest factor is size. At over 11 feet long, our cap requires more raw materials to be produced, and since we’re using expensive processes/materials to keep things as lightweight as possible, the cost to manufacture goes up significantly.
The bed lights are 48V LEDs that come with a dedicated power supply that plugs into your 120V AC outlets. It is possible to splice the 48V wires into your existing bed light wiring for seamless integration and control. However, for legal reasons regarding Tesla’s warranty, we cannot perform this modification or recommend that you do so.
The Cap comes in gloss black, and we can custom wrap it to match your Cybertruck’s PPF or vinyl wrap for an additional charge of $850 + materials.
Every Space Camper is designed and assembled on the Central Coast of California. The composites body will be produced in Washington State. Most of the machined components will be made in the U.S., with a few components being sourced overseas.
We offer free installation at our headquarters in San Luis Obispo, California. Located just north of Santa Barbara and south of Big Sur, it’s an amazing place to take your new camper out for a test drive.
Yes. We will offer freight shipping at an additional charge based on your location if you’re unable to make the trip to the Central Coast. For more information, visit our Shipping Policy.
Yes! Installation is relatively easy for those who are handy, and instructions will be provided. For safety, we recommend having help when placing our campers onto your truck.
Tesla has added mounting points to the Cybertruck’s roof for third-party add-ons like ourselves. No modifications to your truck are required.
No, the RTT (Roof Top Tent) featured on our website is produced by a company called Dark Barracks. This premium hard-walled RTT is one we are currently helping introduce to the U.S. market. If you’d like to pre-order one now for your Cybertruck or another vehicle, click here.
Yes, and anyone with a Cybertruck can order them because they’re independent of our other products. To find our more click here.
Since Tesla has not yet integrated features to allow for direct solar charging, we’ve decided not to offer solar options at this time. While it’s possible to charge the truck via solar, the process isn’t very elegant. You would need to run solar panels through a conditioning battery, which could then charge the truck when parked, requiring you to manually connect the cable to the charging port each time. For regular use, this process is cumbersome and generally not worth the trouble.
If you’re committed to using solar, we will support your efforts by offering instructional videos on how to build a DIY solution. If a future version of the Cybertruck or a software update allows for direct solar charging, we’ll explore adding accessories to support it.
Both our wedge camper and truck caps have dual ventilation ports that double as foot steps and access to the Cybertruck’s tailgate release button. We’ve integrated a baffle system with a 4 inch ducting connection to the interior of our campers that allow AC, fans, etc. to be connected.
Yes, the tonneau cover is still fully functional with both the Wedge and Cap.
The rear hatch of both the Cap and Wedge come with spring loaded latches that lock automatically when closed. To free the hatch, you’ll lower the tailgate partially. This feature allows you to lock and access your Space Camper without need for additional keys. This is by design since your truck will not require you to carry keys.
You can access the tailgate release button through tunnels built into your Space Camper. (Both Cap and Wedge)
No permanent modifications are required for the Cap or Wedge.
